Performance in Office Applications

The results of Pentium D 820 tests in signle-threaded office applications are pretty logical: dual-core CPU is slower than its single-core fellows with higher clock frequency.

In the multi-threaded environment created by the same single-threaded applications running in parallel, the situation is different. Depending on how serious the multi-threaded workload actually is, Pentium D 820 starts showing better results, getting far ahead its single-core competitors from AMD and Intel in the last test.

The same is true for SYSmark 2004 tests supporitng multi-threading. Pentium D 820 is not the last one here, but also not the first one. It goes very nicely with the other Cpus from the same price range.
