One of the main topics of the previous month appeared a number of changes in the roadmaps of AMD and Intel. As areaction to market conditions as well as to the situation with their productive capacities, both companies haveappreciably corrected their plans. We will discuss their roadmaps in great detail and try to make a few forecasts for the coming year.And in the end of the article we shall touch upon some curious events of this November, which took place in the graphics market.

Mid fall is one of the favorite periods for almost all manufacturers. So, most hardware developers and manufacturers decided notto wait till COMDEX Fall and to draw public attention to their products in October already, so that to start Christmas sales fully armed.However, we have to note that this autumn promises to be not so hot as the previous one, for instance. Cut-throat competition in somemarket sectors turned into vain attempts of the majority to catch up with the leaders.

VIA's desire to increase its popularity and to tell the world about its new products and technologies resulted in a two-weekworld tour (Taipei, Tokyo, Beijing, Munich, Prague), where the company held very busy VTF meetings for manufacturers,distributors, on-line media and press. We were lucky to be invited to the last VTF in Prague, which took place on 2 October.So, we would be glad to share our impressions and information bits with you, our readers.

September is one of the saddest months of the year. In fact, it isn't caused by the problems happening in the computer industry,but by the fact that you finally understand: summer is gone and chillsome and shivery autumn days have set in. However,there are still some cool things worth discussing in our regular overview. Especially, bearing in mind that this year the hottestperiod in the computer industry will fall on November, which is just a bit ahead.
