X-bit labs CeBIT 2005 Coverage: Day 3 (page 3)Category: Editorial by Anton Shilov [ 03/14/2005 | 06:00 AM ] OCZ Preps New 700W PSUs, Talks DDR 650MHzOCZ Technology, who is currently one of the most popular brands for memory modules, is putting a lot of effort into its power supply units business these days. According to the company’s representatives, the ModStream and PowerStream product families are already going very well and there are new models to be announced shortly.
Particularly the firm will offer 680W - 700W power supply units within its PowerStream family and will offer 600W ModStream model which allows to detach the unnecessary cables for components providing some extra comfort for PC assemblers. On the memory side of the business the company remains to be enthusiastic about overclocking of the DDR memory. Currently the company’s top DDR product is rated to operate at 600MHz, but the firm is exploring possibilities to push the speed further into the 650MHz range. However, it is not really likely that such products will actually hit the market. The primary target customers for OCZ high-speed DDR SDRAM products are AMD Athlon 64 overclockers. OCZ says AMD processors produced using 90nm process technology easily handle memory operation at the speeds significantly exceeding default 400MHz spot.<%BANNER[banner_468x30]%>
