E3 Show in Los Angeles: All About GamingCategory: Editorial [ 05/17/2004 | 05:28 PM ] E3 Electronic Entertainment Exposition show in Los Angeles was a great event for gaming fans. Tons of new games for PC, Xbox, Playstation, new exciting details about the upcoming software and hardware solutions, cool giveaways and a lot of other fun stuff. Read our show coverage now for more interesting news from the showfloors! Table of contents:Last Wednesday, on May 12, 2004 E3 Electronic Entertainment Exposition show took off in Los Angeles Convention Center in California. This is an annual show, which was celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Devoted to computer and video gaming software, this show gathers together the most dedicated gamers and offers three unforgettable days of ultimate gaming experience to all the visitors. Even if you are not a big gamer, you will love E3 and may easily become one after visiting it. Tons of newest computer and console games, exciting demo versions of the most sophisticated and long-awaited gaming applications, tournaments, shows – all this is definitely very tempting. Also you will be surprised to discover the whole bunch of colorful brochures and posters with your favorite movie characters, because now computer games designed as a follow-up to the newest movies are a common thing.
Take for instance the newest Van Helsing movie. Have you seen it, by the way? Oh, I really loved it: terrific special effects, non-stop action all the way through the entire movie. The plot is a little bit primitive and traditional I would say (what can be new in a vampire story?), but this is not the indepth philosophy that you watch this one for, but impressive special effects. So, what? The game is already in stores! So far I have seen the X-Box version of the game, but at the show there were both: X-box and PC versions ready to go. I wouldn’t be the judge as far as the game is concerned, as the demo looked nice to me, but I haven’t yet had the chance to actually play it. However, if the movie found its audience the game also will, that’s for sure. Anyway, let me guide you through the show, because if you haven’t been there, then you definitely missed a lot of fun. Three huge show areas were absolutely packed. I hear that the first day was not very crowded, but the second and third, oh my god, that was a busy time. When I walked into the first hall I got the impression that I am in one of the busiest Las Vegas casinos: lights, music, and people playing all sorts of games everywhere: absolutely carried away from the reality, sometimes, they wouldn’t even react if you ask them something. In fact, I have to admit that compared with the past few years the gaming community has changed pretty much today. Now you can see much more girls and women among the dedicated gamers. And this observation of mine is actually absolutely true, because as the analysts claim the independent research revealed that about 40% of the today’s gamers are women. Well, I wish they have also tried to find out what types of games women prefer. So far I got the impression that they mostly enjoy “peaceful” simple console games, something like this one, where you actually have only two “controls” :) Wow, guys seem to like this type of games too :) <%BANNER[banner_468x30]%>
