E3 Show in Los Angeles: All About Gaming (page 5)

Besides that NVIDIA didn’t show anything really new. I expected to see some retail gaming cards based on the new NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series chips, but the only one I saw was the reference board, which we have already reviewed and tested in our lab (see our NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra and GeForce 6800: NV40 Enters the Scene) and a box, which said “not for resale”.

  

The same is true for ATI: no retail cards, just a bunch of systems equipped with the new RADEON X800 graphics cards running some games and that’s it.

Well, I thought once it is about gaming. Some gaming hardware could also be nice to show and to see. However, unfortunately, the only gaming hardware I found at the show floor were numerous joysticks, racing wheels, keyboards and mice. Here are a few nice looking guys for you, to check out:

  

  

One more curious thing: the so-called ButtKicker kit from Guitammer Company. It includes a 150W amplifier and the actual “buttkicker” device, which is fastened to any center post chair and then attached to the amplifier, which in its turn should be plugged into the sound card center/sub or line out. This device allows you to literally feel the bass without making the room loud.

Well, this looks like a nice addition to your home gaming system, no matter what type of system you use: PC, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube or Sony PlayStation. Buttkicker is fully compatible with all of them.
