Performance in Semi-Synthetic Benchmarks

Aquamark3

There’s parity between ATI and NVIDIA solutions in this benchmark, save for the lower product categories where the GeForce 6600 GT is far ahead of the RADEON X700 PRO and the RADEON X700 is likewise better than the GeForce 6600. The GeForce 7800 GTX SLI, GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI and the single GeForce 7800 GTX are quite expectedly the fastest, with the SLI pair of GeForce 6800 Ultra being a little faster than the single GeForce 7800 GTX.

The mentioned parity vanishes in the “eye candy” mode – the RADEON X850 and X800 products enjoy an advantage over their opponents, but the RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition can’t overtake the GeForce 7800 GTX, not to mention the SLI platform on two such cards.

Final Fantasy XI Official Benchmark 3

The GeForce 7800 GTX got the maximum number of points, but the RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition scored only 104 points less. That’s the only defeat of ATI Technologies in this benchmark that stresses the graphics memory bandwidth and high geometrical performance of the card. In all the other cases the RADEON cards beat their GeForce counterparts.
