Performance in Simulators

Race Driver: GRID

ATI’s cards are superior in terms of average frame rate throughout this test but their bottom speeds are almost the same as those of Nvidia’s solutions up to the resolution of 2560x1600. And we don’t think the gamer will feel the difference of 10-20fps when the cards are as fast as 98-140fps. The bottom speed of the multi-GPU solutions is never lower than 60fps even at 2560x1600, which is an excellent result, especially in comparison with the fastest single-chip card GeForce GTX 280. Multi-GPU solutions seem to have achieved absolute superiority in the premium product sector.

X³: Terran Conflict

This game is known to prefer ATI’s architectures to Nvidia’s. Unlike in many other tests, the single GeForce GTX 280 is almost no slower than the multi-GPU solutions here. The new GeForce GTX 295 and the GeForce GTX 280 SLI are the only solutions from Nvidia that can provide a playable bottom speed at 1680x1050.
