Despite of not being the most highly-anticipated graphics processor of the year, the NV43, also known as the GeForce 6600, delivers just everything you would expect from a mainstream graphics card with some proof for the future: powerful architecture, support for Shader Model 3.0 and great thermal and power consumption characteristics. But how well does it perform in modern games?
Semi-synthetic Benchmarks
Aquamark 3
Free from complex pixel shaders, Aquamark 3 traditionally likes NVIDIA’s GPUs which are good at processing geometrical data and at rendering scenes with a high overdraw count.

The GeForce 6600 GT is the best here, leaving the RADEON 9800 XT behind. The GeForce 6600 is slightly better than the RADEON X600 XT.

With all the eye candies enabled, the GeForce 6600 GT allows to be overtaken by the RADEON 9800 XT in 1600x1200 only.
