RTCW: Enemy Territory

We use only the “eye candy” mode in this game since the “pure speed” results were non-representative: all the cards, except the junior models of the last generation, were stopped by a kind of fps limiter, which we don’t see with FSAA and AF enabled.

You can’t tell what GPU manufacturer is better in this test. On the one hand, the RADEON X800 XT performs much like the GeForce 6800 Ultra, only achieving a perceptible advantage in the 1600x1200 resolution. On the other hand, the RADEON X800 Pro is a little behind the GeForce 6800 GT.

The GeForce 6800 is greatly impeded by its slow memory (compared to other NVIDIA’s products), so that it even loses the 1600x1200 resolution to the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra! However, both these cards show some competition to the RADEON 9800 XT. The junior products are on a similar level of performance.
