No doubt that it will be close to 6 months soon that Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB graphics adapter retains the title of the world’s fastest solution. However its price of $599 will hardly let it become really popular. But these days the GeForce 8 family has already welcomed its new members - the 8800 GTS 640MB and 8800 GTS 320MB, which are significantly less expensive: $449 and $299 respectively. Let’s find out how they compare with the today’s leader and if it makes sense to go for a solution with 640MB of onboard memory these days.

Every card from the GeForce 8800 series delivers a high average speed, but the minimum of speed is still rather low, which calls for driver improvements. The GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB has the same results as the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB.
