We have already reviewed new Radeon HD graphics architecture before, but at that time we only took a closer look at the top Radeon HD 2900 XT model, while more mainstream solutions didn’t get covered because they were scheduled to start selling a little later. Finally, mass Radeon HD saw the light of day and today we are going to check out one of them: Radeon HD 2600 XT.
Tomb Raider: Legend
The Tomb Raider results are similar to those we had in Hitman: Blood Money. If we enable 4x FSAA and the Next Generation Content mode for better visuals that are created by means of advanced special effects, the Radeon HD 2600 XT loses to the GeForce 8600 GT and even to the Radeon X1650 XT although the latter was benchmarked by us on a less advanced testbed! Well anyway, the GeForce 8600 GT cannot ensure an acceptable speed even in the lowest of the tested resolutions.
