We have already reviewed new Radeon HD graphics architecture before, but at that time we only took a closer look at the top Radeon HD 2900 XT model, while more mainstream solutions didn’t get covered because they were scheduled to start selling a little later. Finally, mass Radeon HD saw the light of day and today we are going to check out one of them: Radeon HD 2600 XT.
Performance in RPG
The current version of the game doesn’t support FSAA, so we performed the test with anisotropic filtering only.
The game not using HDR and FSAA, the Radeon HD 2600 XT proves competitive against the more expensive GeForce 8600 GTS and faster than the GeForce 8600 GT. The problem is that none of these cards, and the Radeon X1950 Pro too, can ensure comfortable performance. Only graphics cards of the GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB class and higher are capable of that.
