Software Bundle

ASUS mainboards are always accompanied with a rich software bundle. ASUS A8R-MVP is no exception of course. The CD disk that is shipped with the mainboard contains at least three interesting utilities:

  • PC Probe II

Usefull tool for hardware monitoring from Windows.
  • Cool’n’Quiet

this program allows monitoring the CPU frequency when it Cool’n’Quiet technology kicks in and changes it. Note that this utility works correctly only when the CPU runs in the nominal mode.
  • ASUS Update

this is a tool for automatic BIOS update from Windows. Note that since the information about ASUS A8R-MVP mainboard has been removed from ASUS web-site, this tool doesn’t find any new BIOS updates any more.

Unfortunately, ASUS doesn’t bundle the standard mainboard package with any overclocking tools for work with clock generator frequency from Windows.
