Processor

As you may have guessed from the name of the platform, this model features a 1GHz processor. To be 100% sure we ran WCPUID test and we discovered that it is not Ezra, but Nehemiah!

It is really interesting that neither the user’s manual, which comes with the board, not the official company web-site mentions this fact. But why? Well, I hope we will be able to answer this question later today, and now please meet Nehemiah processor and check its major specifications:

  • The FPU unit of Nehemiah processor is finally working at the full core frequency, unlike the FPU unit in Ezra.
  • The CPU supports SSE instructions, unlike Ezra.
  • The L1 cache offers 64KB for data and 64KB for instructions. The L2 cache is also 64KB big (despite the information on the screenshot).
  • Unlike Ezra, the new Nehemiah core requires active cooling. In other words a passive heatsink is not enough anymore: it also needs a working fan.

Well, these are the most important things you should know about this CPU.
