As opposed to many subnotebooks, the U6Sg has an optical drive and an abundance of interfaces. Its left panel contains the following components (from left to right):
- Power connector
- Three USB 2.0 ports
- HDMI connector with HDCP support for external monitors and TV-sets
- Wireless On/Off slider
- 26-pin ExpressCard 34/54 slot

The notebook’s right panel carries the following:
- 4-in-1 card-reader that supports Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard and Secure Digital

- Optical drive with activity indicator, eject button and emergency eject hole
- S/PDIF output combined with a headphones output
- Microphone connector
- USB 2.0 port
- Kensington security slot.
Most of the back panel is occupied by the battery. There are also the following components there:
- Modem port (RJ-11)
- LAN port (RJ-45)
- 15-pin D-Sub connector for external monitors
Save for FireWire ports, the notebook offers every interface you may want.
