As opposed to many subnotebooks, the U6Sg has an optical drive and an abundance of interfaces. Its left panel contains the following components (from left to right):

  • Power connector
  • Three USB 2.0 ports
  • HDMI connector with HDCP support for external monitors and TV-sets
  • Wireless On/Off slider
  • 26-pin ExpressCard 34/54 slot

The notebook’s right panel carries the following:

  • 4-in-1 card-reader that supports Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard and Secure Digital

  • Optical drive with activity indicator, eject button and emergency eject hole
  • S/PDIF output combined with a headphones output
  • Microphone connector
  • USB 2.0 port
  • Kensington security slot.

Most of the back panel is occupied by the battery. There are also the following components there:

  • Modem port (RJ-11)
  • LAN port (RJ-45)
  • 15-pin D-Sub connector for external monitors

Save for FireWire ports, the notebook offers every interface you may want.
