Performance in WinBench99

The results obtained in WinBench99 caused us a lot of troubles this time, because in some cases we got a really big discrepancy. Here you go:

However, we still managed to get a clear picture of the 180GXP HDDs performance by repeating the tests multiple times:

In general, the situation in both file systems looks as follows:

  1. 120GXP doesn’t look like an outsider compared with 180GXP. On the contrary, the results of both 120GB models are too similar.
  2. The rating of the HDD in this test mostly depends on its storage capacity. However, we have long known about WinBench favoring hard drives with large storage capacity.
  3. The performance difference between the largest and the smallest HDD (in case their buffer is of the same size) is a little below 10%.
  4. Larger buffer ensures a 13% performance growth in FAT32 and 8% performance growth in NTFS.
