The Fastest Graphics Cards of Summer 2005: Ultimate Testing of 17 GPUs in 30 Games (page 28)Category: Video by Alexey Stepin , Yaroslav Lyssenko [ 09/09/2005 | 12:37 AM ] Lock On: Modern Air Combat
Lock On also prefers the GeForce 6/7 architecture: NVIDIA solutions are generally faster in this flight simulator than RADON X800/X850-based cards. SLI technology works correctly, but provides a very small performance gain. There is even no positive effect from joining two GeForce 7800 GTX cards because Lock On is a highly CPU-dependent game at the maximum graphics quality settings, and that super-powerful SLI configuration just can’t get above the speed bar set by the system central processor.
The RADEON X850/X800 cards are getting more confident in the “eye candy” mode. They are as fast as their GeForce counterparts in 1024x768, and in 1600x1200 the RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition almost overtakes the SLI configuration with two GeForce 6800 Ultra. The GeForce 7800 GTX remains on top, but it is no more than 3fps ahead of the senior RADEON in 1600x1200. <%BANNER[banner_468x30]%>
