The Fastest Graphics Cards of Summer 2005: Ultimate Testing of 17 GPUs in 30 Games (page 9)Category: Video by Alexey Stepin , Yaroslav Lyssenko [ 09/09/2005 | 12:37 AM ] Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30Brothers in Arms belongs to the same genre as Battlefield 2, but has a World War II setting. Not as large-scale as Battlefield 2, this game is still very beautiful with numerous DirectX 9 effects and highly detailed and superbly animated characters. If you like games about World War II, you will surely appreciate the unique atmosphere created in this game.
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 uses a modified Unreal Engine 2, but for some reason prefers the GeForce 6/7 architecture. You can see that everywhere expect for the performance-mainstream class where the more expensive RADEON X800 XL is slightly faster than the GeForce 6800 just because it has more pixel pipelines. The SLI configuration with two GeForce 6800 cards is a little ahead of the GeForce 6600 GT SLI – by not more than 6-8fps.
It’s all roughly the same in the “eye candy” mode: even the RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition cannot yield a playable frame rate in resolutions above 1280x1024. The GeForce 7800 GTX, on the other hand, allows playing this game with enabled FSAA and anisotropic filtering even in 1600x1200. As for the SLI configuration based around GeForce 6800 Ultra and GeForce 7800 GTX, they are beyond competition. Note also that the SLI platforms with GeForce 6800 and GeForce 6600 GT cards have almost the same performance in the “eye candy” mode. <%BANNER[banner_468x30]%>
