Volcano Level, Pure Mode

“Volcano” is a yet another perfect example of what “long” pixel shaders can bring: multitude light sources clearly impact performance negatively on the hardware that cannot optimize rendering process, while the RADEON X800 and the GeForce 6800 graphics chips families clearly deliver significant  performance advantage thanks to more efficient programming using Shaders 3.0 and Shaders 2.0b.

Even though all graphics cards demonstrate pretty good results, in high resolutions NVIDIA’s GeForce 6800 Ultra and GT take the lead over competing RADEON X800 products.
