In spite of our expectations, the GeForce 8800 GTX doesn’t win in 3DMark05. It is as fast as the GeForce 7900 GTX SLI, though. The ATI Radeon X1950 XTX CrossFire is the closest to scoring 15.000 points – it’s got only 531 points less than that.
The top-end graphics solutions are all limited in speed by the CPU in 4x FSAA mode, but the GeForce 8800 GTX takes the lead when we switch to harder antialiasing modes. It’s natural as the new graphics card sports 32 TMUs, 24 ROPs and a 384-bit memory bus all of which are called for in the first test. <%BANNER[banner_468x30]%>
