Splinter Cell: Double Agent

We try to get the highest possible image quality from each game, but Splinter Cell: Double Agent cannot use FSAA and FP HDR simultaneously. That’s why the results refer to the HDR + 16x AF mode only.

The developers of the Splinter Cell series have always put a focus on the number and complexity of mathematics-heavy special effects rather than on texture quality. Double Agent carries this tradition on, and the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT GDDR4 manages to outperform the GeForce 8600 GTS here.

The AMD card isn’t far ahead, though. The gap is only 5% in the playable 1280x1024 resolution, but we shouldn’t forget that the Radeon HD 2600 XT costs less than the GeForce 8600 GTS and is not in fact its opponent on the market.
