I hope you do some more testing regarding the noise characteristic. Many SpinPoint's users with the JVC 's motor report a noticable and annoying whine. And based on the photo of in the article, the tested drive also has a JVC' motor. If you can obtain another SpinPoint with Nidec's motor and do a noise comparision test, that would be great.

I've had several of these and with some the vibration is quite noticeable. And my case is not a cheap case made of thin tin. It weighs nearly 30lbs empty and is very sturdy.

Aparently they are dead with the AI virus out there , use any envidia Video card with addresable memory and it turns your 120HDD into Viral Network AI super virus distribution station the military bug scaped its intended environment making the whole internet its "home" .

turns video card into an oven (overheating) and the HDD cannot be formated again as its FLASH chip memory is corrupted .... The bad thing is microsoft is mouth shut on the issue blaming the event on a WORM ..... just wait till shit hits fan hard ... Linux here I go ......
