About time! Yay for Seagate. WD with their 3yr are also good. Those 1 year warranties spoke volumes about how little you could trust the products. This is the direction the industry needs to go. Manufacturers express some CONFIDENCE in your products!

Thank you for showing that faith by backing them up with real warranties.

I have a Seagate drive which is full of bad sectors and i only had it for a little over a year. 1 year warranties on HD's is not enough. A step in the right direction from Seagate.

I think it is a wise marketing move by Seagate. I'd been using Maxtor drives exclusively until they went to the 1 year warranty. Then I switched over to WD drives with the 3 year warranty and have used them with satisfaction. I willl now consider Seagate when making recommendations and purchases.

don't forget that Samnsumg have provided a 3yr warranty on their SpinPoint range for some time. They are a better price point compared to their peers, very quiet, and I've found these run cooler and more reliable than most imho.
