"Its die will be about 154 square millimetres, only a bit larger compared to today’s AMD Athlon 64 microprocessor." Something isn't adding up. I'm no Computer Engineer but fitting two cores and 2MB of cache on to a 154 square millimetre die seems questionable. As does the 3GHz clock speed.
