The notebook has no integrated microphone.
I own this notebook. Awesome piece. But Compaq shouldn't have missed
the microphone, its so small to fit it anywhere, and its inexpensive.
Otherwise, An awesome laptop you can buy.

I have the presario 900 notebook and recently after running some games the esc key and arrow (dir) keys don't function right anymore and I can't figure out how to fix it using the control panel with xp.....it won't let me just reload the driver again, says it's the same one and of course it is but it is screwed up and i can't figure out how to fix it so it's frustrating a keyboard would change function in all programs after running any kind of program...that sucks. i can't escape it with esc since that no longer works.
any ideas appreciated....

We used 2 of these units for a little over 12 months. Work was primarily restricted to office type, with some video and graphics editing.
They worked well, but had some problems. Both units were returned to Compaq at some point in that 12 month period, one for issues related to the USB ports on the back (the folding flap that covers them tends to put pressure onto USB plugs, causing breakage of the port - remove the flap!); the other because the CD/DVD drive failed. Subsequently, shortly after the warranty expired, the other computer's CD/DVD drive also expired.
The case has a weak spot to the left of the keyboard that has a join and indentation. Both computer cases cracked at this point.
Although overall we were pleased with the computer, the weaknesses, failings and design faults have left us deciding not to use Compaq laptops again until we see some improvements.

I liked this laptop until i found out my fans stopped working properly and now my computer is melting from the inside out. Now i'll have to rely on my desktop computer. Wont buy this kind of laptop again

I have owned a Presario 900 for about 3 years now. I have found it to be excellent for all applications although I use it mostly for PP presentations. I have traveled extensively and never had a problem. It does occasionally run hot but has never malfunctioned or shut down. The speakers are definately better than any other laptop on the market. This is the 4th Compaq laptop I have owned and I plan to buy another one. Compaq rocks!

I reformate my labtop . but now can't find the dvd. What should i do . I love my notebook. I think is one of the so many computer came very good . I but my notebook on 2001 im i still working with no problems at all. Every thing is update. but now i need to make work my dvd . thanks for you helpl.
