It sucks that you need such expensive RAM like this to overclock a processor a significant amount without using a RAM divider. I like to buy the lower end models and overclock them to the higher end to save money and get the same performance, but it's starting to require such expensive memory that it's almost not worth it. I guess Athlon XP's have spoiled me.

How about an Athlon 64 platform? It seems clear that memory doesn't behave the same on Athlon 64 than on P4.

Morevoer, it would be very interresting to see the difference in real world applications between DDR400 at decent timings and DDR550, all other things being equal, to see if expansive memory worth the price or if the price difference would be better spent on another video card or cpu.
