The reason the Ferrari 3200 loses in most benchmarks with AC/DC power is that the Ferrari laptops don't run max clock speed in AC/DC mode, they run about 80 % speed. In battery mode, clock is half of CPU max clock on both laptops.

You can change Windows Energy saving to "Desktop system" and you get the Ferrari to run the CPU at amx clock speed and it will win the benchmarks.

I can only presume that the Radeon 9700 64MB uses faster RAM than the 128MB (hence the faster performance in low texture tests). However, when you increased the texture quality to 32-bit, the graphics RAM capacity becomes more important than the RAM speed.

hi guys, I just bought a Ferrari 3200, XPHome, reset to default settings (6months old, 1300 euros with a targus case)
I just want some advice on settings, to make the most of the system without overstraining it. I am not a Techie, so settings that would be O.K to leave permanently once set. Apart from Halflife 2, the main use will be onsite (ie battery) downloading of highpixel video footage (50 aerial video) from the video card memory, then displaying this onsite for customers, hopefully I can do this on a reasonable power setting. Displaying the video footage so my customers get to see what i have just filmed, no onsite electicity and I am going to buy a second battery.
