1. really cool stuff , i have a intel D915GAG
but i'm having problems playing half life 2.
would you be able to tell if it can run on my computer

I have a business that gives I.T support on all platforms . My client bought a HP Compaq DX6120 Microtower that has the Intel 915G Chipset with integrated Intel Media Accelerator 900. The system crashed and after the install no graphics driver whould go Near that PC. Not even Digitally certified from www.hp.com would work .And all other releases are :{ BETA .

5. u cannnot play hl2 and most other games as the driver issues are stuffed
over a yr and still havent fixed bugs for hl2 not worth getting this onboard graphics as driver support lacks bigtime

8. can chipsets play games better or video cards?
for example, Is the Intel GMA 900 chipset better or is the Connect 3D radeon x300 se better?

This article hits it right on the head.If i knew the pc i bought had this chipset in it and it was not any good AT ALL i would've bought one with a VIA chipset.My brother has a VIA and played the same games i play with the Intel chipset and haven't seen the VIA falter once no matter what i play.

I am interested in another dimension of performance - - how much is the processing power of the CPU diminished by the constant memory activity (and blockage) of the integrated video chip? i.e. do I give up 30% of peak processing power for a Photoshop task due to the memory cycles"stolen" by the integrated graphics chip?

12. These results are good for a person that is not doing alot of gaming, In fact you would still be better off with a PCI express or AGP card for best results if you wanted to build a gaming computer

14. I've purchased a Dell E310-P4 with a 3.2 GHz/HT Processor with the integrated GMA 900 graphics w/ 1GB 400 Mhz DDR2 Ram and just hope it can run Lock On, Jetfighter V and IV and Wings over Vietnam with good graphics speed. I hope I got a good deal for the money.

17. im a new user of intel gma900..in a laptop and its not 2bad,i even succeed 2play some of the latest games even were'nt at highest settings

19. if i knew the gma900 sucked so bad i would've bought a cheaper mb and spend the extra money on a g-card. I recently bought a x600xt g-card and the performance sky rocketed. The performance of the gma900 was so bad i decided to buy a g-card instead of more ram now im stuck with 256mb ram. And it was worth it!!! If only i had read the article earlier.

20. Kinda hokey results here--everything presented as numbers with no qualifications about what they represent. Graphs with no labels, a lack of context and accompanying explanation are typical of the pseudoscientist who seeks to impress rather than to learn. If these folks can't even be bothered to present their results professionally, why should we believe that they did the much harder work of the actual research with any greater professionalism?
