I still don't see any noise, heat or power consumption comparisons, which, in many user's opinions, will be much more important factors than performance alone...

Agreed! (hey jake from SPCR) If you are buying a laptop drive, noise , power consumption and thus heat, are very important factors, usually more important than performance.
