1. Interesting - it looks like the passively cooled GF6600 does not require a heatsink on the backside (unlike the Gigabyte cards); this will allow me to use such cards in my SFF system, without blocking the neighbouring PCI slot.

2. I find this sentence kind of wierd.
"It is unclear whether it will be possible to use NVIDIA GeForce 6-series graphics cards in the dual-GPU SLI mode on Intel’s mainboards. At least one thing is absent for dual-card operation: the so-called SLI switcher that determines whether one or two graphics cards are installed and should operate. Still, the switch can be implemented directly into the core-logic." Since the same goes for Asus A8N-SLI Premium that comes with Pericom Semiconductor’s PCI Express Switch IC (integrated circuit) instead of a selector card. My guess is that intel skipped the first early version with the physical selector card and made it in the core logic. That it would not run the Gf6 series seems pretty illogical unless the Asus board can't run them either. [Posted by: Silver | Date: 03/12/05]
