1. Argh!
/me bangs head repeatedly against wall. You've forgotten *again* to include noise and power consumption (heat) measurements. I didn't even read the benchmark section. You have *got* to get into your thick skull that there is more to laptop drives than pure performance. [Posted by: Jake | Date: 04/06/05]
I'm considering the 80 MB WD for a (not exactly tiny but very) portable MP3 player.I'm ONLY interested in power consumption and heat levels. [Posted by: Agrees_with_Jake | Date: 07/17/05]
DOH, forgot to mention NOISE levels aswell. Want to listen to my MP3's at low volume levels without a hum in the background

2. Thanks for the review. I am grateful you included the 40GB version. Excellent performance for everything except Visual C++!!

3. I got the Scorpio 800VE in my Dell Inspiron 1300 and I'm really happy about it: Quiet, fast and hopefully reliable

4. I have installed the Scorpio 60Gb in my notebook and it reaches 132 degrees Farenheit while doing afull backup to an external drive. This is way too hot for a laptop. The drive will probably fail within a year due to the heat if I do this once a week.

5. the scorpio is the loudest hard drive i've ever dealt with, so western digital is a bunch of filthy, lying cunts.
