1. Isn't nVidia's 8xS form of AA actually broken, thus causing bad performance?

I found this when I was skiming through the article. Im not sure if this was addressed any sooner. Quote: The same situation is in the “extreme quality” mode. The GeForce6 team, like in other cases, fall behind ATI’s RADEON X800/X850 due to their more difficult 8xS way of doing full-screen antialiasing. 1600x1200 resolution is downright unplayable on the GeForce 6800 GT/Ultra – the frame rate sinks below 30fps. The 3rd graph down incorrectly displays a Doom 3 Graph instead of a HL2 Graph. [Posted by: MonkRX | Date: 05/05/05]

3. Some benchmarks are bs btw, my friends X800Pro handles everything np at max at stock speed, and he can overclock it to 1.4Ghz.....

Hahaha that's the lamest thing I've ever heard... no-one can clock a X800PRO to 1.4Ghz, not even the RAM, which is 2.0ns and rated for max 1Ghz.

Hi, It is the very first time, I think, your review is up to the others on Xbitlabs. Keep up a good work. [Posted by: Curious | Date: 05/06/05]
5. "RADEON X850 PRO which works at higher clock rates but has only 12 pixel pipelines against the RADEON X800 XL’s 16 pipelines. These graphics cards should perform similarly, but the RADEON X800 XL is going to be somewhat better in pixel shader-heavy games and somewhat worse when the GPU clock rate is important, like in scenes with complex geometry."
Hmm I dont think that explains the difference between the card very well. For one thing the X800XL should only be 2-3% faster at pixel shading whilst the X850 pro is theoretically 30% faster at vertex shading...a rather larger difference ;-) Some X800XLs are only clocked at 393mhz which should make their lead in pixel shading nie on unmeasurable The X850 pro also has 8% more memory bandwidth I mean yeah theyre going to perform similarly but then the 9800 pro and 9800XT performed "similarly" as well. 512MB does jackshit for the average Joe/Jane gamer. :) (I summarised it in 1 line!) [Posted by: 22 | Date: 05/06/05]
8. I use a Samsung 243T for gaming. It supports 1920x1200 DVI. I would have liked to see tests with this higher level resolution, rather than stopping at 1600x1200.
