Minor Critique :P
Going from 500nm process to 130nm process is not a 4x fold (well 3.846x fold) as it first appears.
It is actually roughly 15x fold (well 14.793x fold) increase in transistor count, since processors are made on two dimentions not one. (assuming a mostly 2D construction with a static number of layers however the layers get thinner aswell....)
In some CPU / IC generational changes, more layers are added to construction aswell, futher increasing the exponential nature of the final transistor count that can fit in a given three dimentional space.
