Maybe someone can explain this to me. GPUs require an add in card with extra memory and video port(s). If the video ports were routed to the motherboard, and turbocache/hypermemory further devoloped, and some fast cache memory built into the GPU, what else is needed? Why haven't GPUs gone the way of CPUs, which once had goofy slot 1 cards, similar to video cards? This would work especially well with notebooks, seeing the new push for mxm type modularity.
