Comparing both reviews (MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R and ASUS P4P800) it looks like there is a big performance difference between Asus P4C800 and Asus P4C800 deluxe. And the difference is in favour of the cheeper. Does really deluxe vession slower or it is just a mistake.

Thanks! I knew that there was something. So the deluxe versions of p4c800 and p4p800 perform as fast as the non-deluxe ones?

Out of curiosity, what did ASUS say about the settings (not mentioned in the manual but in the review), in the BIOS regarding to enhancing performance?

Was there a mis-print in the manual ?

Firstly, KUDOS to Ilya for another intelligent in-depth review - man, I want a P4P800!!

On the subject of Asus' "Hyper-Path" memory path optimization feature in this mobo, DigiTimes has reported that Intel has requested Asustek (& some other mobo manufacturers) to stop advertising such features in their i865PE mobos because Intel fears that will adversely impact sales of their much more expensive i875 mobo chipsets, see here:
http://65.54.244.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=EN&lah=42a256e 33aaa03bb8f7eb8fe5644c31&lat=1056123398&hm___action http%3a%2f%2fwww%2edigitimes%2ecom%2fNewsShow%2fMailHom %2easp%3fdatePublish%3d2003%2f6%2f19%26pages%3d01%26seq%3 1

That report also says Intel plans to DISABLE such features in the i865PE chipset soon - so get it while you can!

To the comments in the review about lack of additional brackets for the other USB ports. It's forgetting that most modern PC cases have USB ports built into them at the front (some with Firewire too!). These have their own cables which plug straight into the motherboard, making use of these addiitional USBs. So it's not that bad really ;)

Great motherboard, i LOVE IT!

I just bought P4P800 Deluxe with 2 of Corsair xms 3200 cas2 memory. (not twinx one)
However It's little strange. If I try to overclock the CPU FSB, I can't bootup with 400mhz memory setting. I can only get 320mhz. No other option I can try. Anyone has similar problem?

I enjoyed your article on the ASUS P4P800. I am awaiting the arrival of my shipment which includes the ASUS P4P800 motherboard. On arrival I will be assembling a computer for the first time. Your article has quelled some of my concerns and added to my feelings of satisfaction in my abiity to research and purchase the best board possible for the least amount of money. I was quite sure I was on track with my selection and your article is very reassuring and very informative.

Thanks many times over for taking the time to write and post this article.

Thanks for your in-depth review on this board, if we can have a review of such details on all our computer parts, life could be that much easier. :p

I just bought one P4P800 to run with a P4 2.4C DDR3200 512 ram.

However I am a bit concerned about the recommended setting in the review, that MAM -> Auto and PMode -> Turbo. It's contradict with some others reviews that claimed MAM -> Enabled and PMode -> Turbo. Why, in your opinion, is there such an diff. ?

thank u for your review.
I tried to apply those settings in my p4p800, but when i put mam = enabled and performance = turbo or standard, after doing save and exit the PC simply dies?! I have to remove the battery end do CMOS clearing so that he can live again.
I have BIOS 10.12, but even after CMOS clearing, BIOS version goes to 10.08, when i change MAM from auto to enabled and try to change performance from any diferente then auto he dies.
Does anyone have or had this problem.

Config:
CPU P4 2.8
MOBO P4P800
RAM 2x512 MB DDR 400 (Twinmos, dual chanel kit, from Asus recommended list );
Graphics ASUS V9560 (GFX 5600, 128MB)
Hdd Sata 80 GB;

Please help.

setting the memory acceleration mode to "enabled" actually gave me a performance boost, so I guess something went wacky in your benchmarks

Hello:

Have a P4P800...so far, one complaint but a big one. The USB ports aren't very well connected. I figured the ones at the front might have been badly installed but the rear ones that are part of the motherboard....? You really have wiggle your connection back there for it to pick up the USB device and I've tried quite a few different USB devices now. Always used ASUS boards in my computers but may try MSI next time...

1.-I will buy a Pentium 4 2,8Ghz 800fsb 1mb l2 cache Prescott CPU , i didn't found the "PRESCOTT" Word it in the Supportted CPU's List from Asus.
It only says "P4-2.80E GHz (800 FSB, L2 cache:1MB, HT, 90nm)", besides P4P800 says that Supports Prescott CPU's , have anyone tested this?

2.- Also documentatios says that Procesor P4-2.80E GHz (800 FSB, L2 cache:1MB, HT, 90nm) is supported with bios 1014 and later, i guest if my Mother board comes with and inferior bios version i need to install a supported Processor then do the update and install the P4-2.80E GHz (800 FSB, L2 cache:1MB, HT, 90nm) Processor?
THANKS
