Its just too bad SiS chipsets have not so good support in Linux...Otherwise, I would've bought products based on their chipsets ages ago.

Its not so much SiS' fault, but the BIOS vendor's. I read the LKML regularely, and the one thing that plagues VIA, SiS and also nvidia chipsets are the massive amount of BIOS bugs. The mobo-makers create their bios according to this scheme:

1) write code
2) does it compile? NO-> back to 1
3) does it boot windows? NO-> back to 1
4) ship it
