41. Pentium 4 is like a very small engine running 20000rpm. It heats up like hell but won't give you much power. You can cool your small engine with liquid nitrogen and add another 20000rpm but I just can't see the point in that. Someone with even a moderate amount of intelligence would redesing the engine and make it raceworthy with rpm that won't superheat the engine or make it unstable/unefficient in anyway.

It's just funny that fuel economy is coming to prosessors allso. Intel promises to cut the powerconsumption in half. This reminds me of the Oil crisis of the 70's :)

51. With Intel practicing ways of threatening thier customers of cutting off supplies if they endorse AMD products, I see no reason why anyone should encourage use of Intel components. They are being sued by AMD over this issue. AMD may be a little behind in the mHz race, but thier CPU's perform more computations at a slower clock speed than intel anyhow. AMD has come out with some impressive chipsets in the past few years. I hope they keep up with the pace to keep intel at bay of becoming a monopoly holder similar to Microsoft.
As for the oil-crisis 70's bit, thats funny. Most PC manufacturers ever take into consideration the power consumption of a given device. It is imperitive that they change the design to be more efficient rather than faster. After-all, if it weren't for buggy - security holed virus laden microsoft OS's, we would all be happy running our applications 10 times as fast on half the clock cycles and 1/10th the RAM. The whole OS might as well be written in visual Basic.

52. That's CLEAN!

I'd just waiting for someone to O/C their AMD to 5Ghz and STOMP that 7Ghz Intel =)
