1. Sony DRX-800UL external DVD problem -
Burning engine not installed

3. I just bought this unit. What it doesn't tell you is that it has a limited number of times you can switch between PAL and NTSC. I have family in Japan and the UK, I am in North America as are other members of my family... We send video of family events and copy it for each other, I'm down to two more times (out of four!!) and I'm done. I will contact Sony about this and hope it can be switched off or I'll be sending it back!
My lap top doesn't care when I play these home video's, I also have a DVD player that doesn't care whether PAL or NTSC.

4. my divice is the sony drx800ul and doesn't support dvd-dl writting why? it doen't show it in my nero info tool is there something wrong with that?

5. This was a very nice and completer review- I am wondering, since I just bought one of these and do not know anything about burners etc, does this have or need -
ram- a harddrive and is it a stand alone or do you need a computer to use this Sony drx800ul?-
Also, If not- can you use win 98se at all- Thank you- Superb job on review
