Awwww, should've included the overclocked version from the last review of the AMD 3200+ :P :) This will do anyways though.

I think 8kb L1 is too much ;)

Yeah, if you're an AMD biased dumbass who doesn't know the very fundamentals of professional journalism.

There's always one AMD fan that puts their 2 cents into it. :)

(I wonder how fanatical they'll get, over an Opteron or Athlon64 review?)

They'll probably wet themselves after the first word.

very nice article , and great info !
Pity AMD is not able to compete in the performance section 'casue it would be much better for the prizing of the CPUs for the endconsumer

majority of the consumers buy Intel processors. And that is AMD's problem.

Since amd has no multi threading capabilities but is less expensive than the P4, have you done any comparisons using a single P4 and a dual AMD of comparable price?

Would a overclocked Intel CPU OC to 3.2GHZ be as good as a straight 3.2GHZ cpu ?

Seems like author is a great fan of video encoding:
# Performance: Office and Content Creation Applications
# Performance: Streaming Data Processing
# Performance: Gaming Applications
# Performance: 3D Rendering
# Performance: Scientific Applications
only Office (1 bench) and SciApps (4 benches) aren't about video,
other (21 in total) are of those favoring long pipelines.
Care to run a branch happy kernel compile or two?

I compiled KDE last night, but never ran MPEG encoder in my life.

I won't dispute that 3.2 GHz P4 beats AMDs, but I think Barton
overclocked to the state of 100W dissipation will perform comparably
or better than P4.

Thanks again AMD for keeping Intel competitive.
