Your term "continuously-measured" may not be clear, especially for people who do already know the the difference between fewer and less. You might have explained it as something that can not easily be quantified into a discrete measurable quantity. Whereas the number of hard disks maker is clearly quantifiable as an integer, one would be unable to assess a precise value to something like anger. So one would be less angry with the low quality of Maxtor drives, now that there are fewer hard disk makers.
I still remember everyone calling these crappy drives "Crashtor". They are such junk. My only fear is that, since I buy only Seagate, I may end up with a Crashtor without even knowing it. About the only thing positive about such a scenario is that they make adequate projectiles in a pinch, and since they don't work to begin with, you don't really degrade them by using them in such a manner.
