this is not fair for AMD. You overclocked the Pentium 955 which consumes far more power than the AMD 64 4800+ [not OC] and you're comparing both together?!!

I never saw a Prescott reaching 160 Watt. It's hard for me to believe.

Yea, Sure You'd get better performance out of it because you Have it clocked 800mhz faster than its support 3.46GHZ. Theres very little difference between teh 4800 and the 955.. Wait till AMD comes out with the new m2 socket.

Good information, some mistakes but gives a good idea how the processor will perform in a finished system.

Why not compare overclocked AMD 4800X2 against overclocked Intel 955 in your result!!!

yeah the fx60 still okay. but i think the presler still a better overall cpu. but amd rules, we win in gaming and we all know gaming guys only concentrate on games not girls or cars and other man stuff! amd rule and who need to do other stuff with a computer? who not amd!

It's all fair.
AMD is far superior in gaming.
Intel beats AMD in most of the other tasks.
Intel consumes a hole lot more and generates more heat.
And i dunno why AMD fanboys complain. A X2 doesn't overclock too well, and even if it did,it wouldn't have change the situation.
Also,you may consider testing the FX-57 alongside is in AMDs favour cause of its high clock( so it does much better in single threaded opertations).

The sad thing is that this is one of the last Intel proc. on netburst and we won't be seeing this for much longer.
The price might also be considered an issue BUT both AMD and Intel have this ridicolous priced CPUs.
A good ending to a not so great series. It finally manages to overall beat the AMD X2 4800 performance wise though it still has major flaws and weaknesses .
That said,i'm waiting for Conroe. Then will see some Intels performance per watt!
And i also await the M2 socket. Hopefully, it'll boost up the clock, or at least decrease prices to current 939s (notsaying they are high but lower prices are always welcomed!).
