I find it wierd that it can read and record dvd but not cd, does not these two formats use the same red laser ?

Since it still needs 2 lasers one red and one blue... why not choose the same red lasers that are in todays cd/dvd recorders..

Though, they are the first to produce, they will soon upgrade this model in the market as other electronic companies would support both technologies, especially LG. I belive LG will support both HD DVD and Bluray even though they are ticking for bluray for now. It's only sony that will soley support Bluray only as times goes on. HP and Samsung will support both formats as times goes on.
