And when you think that Intel has added Apple pc's to it's market share, the drop is pretty dramatic really.

Intel deserves it with it's poor processors and lack of vision.

81.5%? We all know that AMD is doing significantly better in the desktop market than Intel, but THAT much better? I remember it was not at all long ago when 18.5% was considered impressive for AMD...

And Intel's notebook market share seems to be surprisingly low...only 63%? I thought it was more like, well, 83%, probably even more...

People want to have Conroe/Merom. Might be good to get those chips out to market. But I suppose Intel is big enough to weather a bad couple of quarters.

Intel seems to be phasing out all single core processors.
The projected prices of pressler are rediculusly low.
And Conroe/Memrom and Yohan are going to be strong contenders in the consumer market (let alone the conroe core varint for servers)
Compaire these with the up and coming AMD processors? Ouch.. AMD isnt looking too good for mid to highrange systems come Q3.

AMD is still selling XP moble's and socket A systems, its keeping marketshare high. What processor does Intel have for the budget system builders right now? Nothing, Intel needs to drop something down to this pricerange to get marketshare back in desktops.
