I think the only reason why Plextors are expensive, is because they're durable.
Try and burn 500 DVDs or CDs in a row, and you see what I mean.
I've had my Plextor optical drives for over 6 yrs, before they started behaving oddly. (I think they've had it) :(
But during that time, I've burnt more CDs than I care to count. (boxes of them everywhere in my room!)
