Abit = Not ready for Prime Time at this point in time.

No LPT/COM ports, questionable 3-phase power supply that clearly runs way too hot, only one usable PCI slot, odd-ball floppy connector location, BIOS issues, etc. mean that this is just another ATI chipset mobo not worth even considering.

ATI must be livid at the gross incompetence demonstrated by Asus, Sapphire, DFI, Abit, et al in rushing defective mobos out the door for quick profits. My e-mail exchanges with Abit Tech and Customer Service (sic), show they have no clue what is going on nor do they actually care, which ain't a good sign for survival of this company.

Are you sure it's ATI mobo?

This particular board is using an nForce4 SLI 32x chipset, which is why it produces so much heat on that passive cooling solution, and adding it to the mosfets for added fun.

If it was an ATI chipset, a tiny passive non heatpiped cooler would've done fine, and a seperate passive heatsink on its mosfets would've actually helped cool them down.

Looks like Abit needs to go back to the drawing board and get a mobo out without some better overclocking potential, if they wish to reclaim their former position.

the 280 external clock overclocking issue was resolved with an updated BIOS several weeks ago. It's on the Abit ftp.
