It might mess a lot off stuff up, but the logistics of having a expanded and diverse infrastructure for both would be very appealling, even for ATI. They will have access to so much new technology (dual core GPU's) and will eventually, like 10 years, will have inhouse manufacturing when AMD is not getting ready to realease a new CPU. I think that it will be, in time, a very good thing for both companies, but only if it played right.
