i really dont think forcing performance on amd is reasonable, people want to linger on the k8 success and make it their drive ,in hope to revive their ow feelings of the underdog winning a bout.
the facts are with pricing and new market entry they have bought the time they need to catch up;but their big picture is not soley enthusiast ;as a matter of fact that would be the latter of the amd ati evolution.
intel having core 2 is not enough, and first tests of their quad are great but that only gets them so many stock points.
heres where the war becomes incredible, amd will attain new markets with ati,and intels quad performance may be a slightly limiting market growth factor for amd and amd's pricing has thus far kept intel from realizing market share price surging with core 2.
its not just a performance war, each company is strategically conducting themselves in a manner which brings the war to wall street.
bottom line ,amd has time, and intel will try to use its production power tokeep amds enevitable success in new platforms down to a dull roar.
i think well see amd stock hit the mid 30's and maybe higher over the long haul.
