Boo, what an irresponsible thing to post. I do enjoy your site and many of the articles, but this!
Even in view of the disclaimers and cautions this is not a good thing to suggest for people to do.
These cards have design limitations for a reason and by performing these questionable “modifications” (butchering) you are removing all safety margins and any temperature head room. Pencil lines over resistors !!! Shame, shame, on you Xbit. This article is right up there with the Power Supply mods you posted awhile ago by some “Alt F4” idiot.

The article is great imho, something that a select few are looking for to get that extra bit of juice to run your games smoother or more detailed.

Dennis_1, we all understand the risks and the article pointed them out once again. anyone with the knowledge on how to tackle this is smart enough to know which risks he runs. so your booing is unnecessary.

AltF13, keep em coming because this is the kind of thing that's appreciated in enthusiast circles.

I think its very sad that there are people like Dennis_1 who find this sort of article as 'irresponsible' and 'shameful'.

I think its fantastic. Pushing technology to the limits means that the technology gets improved when these limits are reached.

If it wasn't for people pushing things to the max and then further, we would still be living in the mid 20th century with 5% efficient light bulbs and cars that drove 5 miles per gallon of juice.

Risks are there in front of the reader, if they burn up their graphics card - then they will learn something new that day.If they dont, they will have gotten more performance for their hard earned cash.

Keep them coming xbit !!
