1. If Mr. Shilov isnt prone to a bit of hyperbole, I don't know what's going on!
Although the gist of this article is very accurate, the headline is just plain wrong. Steve Jobs never 'demanded' anything - that is, he suggested that one of the workarounds for the DRM troubles is removing it. But to suggest that he made a demand is just ridiculous. In his 'thoughts on music' letter, Mr. Jobs suggests several options for making MP3 downloads more tolerable, not just the removal of DRM. Apple has a great product, most people have very little issue with DRM, and yes, removal of it would be great - but nowhere in his letter did Steve 'demand' anything. 2. "Apple’s Chief Exec Demands DRM to Be Removed, EMI Reportedly Plans to Obey"
Your headline is a mischaracterization of Jobs' open letter about DRM. Jobs lays out a compelling argument for the abandonment of DRM, but nowhere in his letter does he demand anything of anyone. [Posted by: matthew | Date: 02/09/07]
It's true Xbitlabs' grammar sucks from time to time, but don't be too hard on them, English isn't their native language.

4. Jobs: "If the big four music companies would license Apple their music without the requirement that it be protected with a DRM, we would switch to selling only DRM-free music on our iTunes store"
Pfft. Jobs could just have easily said "If the big four music companies would license Apple their music without the requirement that it be protected with a DRM, we will give away 1 million iPods." The simple fact is that the music studios will not license the music without DRM and Jobs knows this. This is a PR stunt, pure and simple. I very much doubt that Apple has any intention of releasing the iPod/iTunes vendor lock-in. [Posted by: Cynic | Date: 02/12/07]
5. The emi decision is completely separate from Jobs' letter, you arrse!
