Well it doesn't work for my chip. It says I'm downgraded from a 2700+ to a 1700+ but I can't run 2700+ speeds at stock voltage. As a matter of fact it takes 2.0 volts to run that speed.

i am not a proffesional but this article is rediculus! on the example mentioned obove i understood that the 8th and 9th digit 28 stand for atlon XP 2800+! if so can you tell me how such CPU can be produced in 1999? i thoght it (XP 2800+) came on the market in the begining of this year (2003) though they anounced it in octomber last year. What exactly do you mean these digits describe the initial speed the processor was designed for?

Just received 3-Athlon 1700 AXDA1700DUT3C
JIUHB0310 and they will all run at 200 fsb x 11 at default voltage on the
new Epox 8RDA+. The cpu benchmark on soft sandra 2003 is 8304 which
is faster than an Athlon 3000 or P4 3.06 ghz chip. I bought these out of Ca for $57.00 a piece. They ide at 39C with coolmaster copper heatsink. I will put on a thermalright copper heatsink and 60 cfm fan and try to hit 2.4 ghz.

I have an Athlon 2400 XP on a ECS K7S5A Mobo. 512 Mem, Win XP pro.
Problem is, I restart the system and it will not POST (no video).
I have to restart it about three times before it reboots.

I've replaced the board, CPU, Mem, P/S is 350w.

Any suggestions would be helpful

If this story/script is at all correct, it doesn't apply to my CPUs. They're 2400+ Thortons, maybe this info is only valid for T-breds?

Marking: AXDC2400DKV3C 108799S->A4

Crap, my post was interpreted as HTML and got truncated. Anyway, my CPUs would really be "A400+" if this story was applicable to them.
